T1 will enter PMWL 2020 after the acquisition of the PUBG Mobile team
The big eSports organization from South Korea has finally entered the world of PUBG Mobile. This happened after they managed to dominate eSports on PC for a decade. In an effort to seek new challenges, the T1 organization wants to try to enter the world of PUBG Mobile.
Who is the T1 eSports Organization?
T1 was originally founded in 2003 where they made their name on the game Starcraft. This team is one of the most successful organizations in the League of Legends game, having won the World Championships in 2013, 2015 and 2016. They have won 9 championships from various eSports divisions and are one of the largest organizations operating in Asia.
Xenon Team Acquisition
In the first half of 2020, Team Xenon or Xenon eSports created hype around them by winning the PUBG Mobile Street Challenge 2020. The tournament was held from April 24 to April 26 and gave a total prize pool of around USD 58K. The Xenon team won the Final due to their consistency throughout the 14 matches in these three days.
Rumors suggest that T1 is looking for a performing team in Asia to open up their new division. Impressed by the performance of the Xenon Team this year, T1 has acquired this entire roster and will represent them at PMWL 2020, which they announced on their Twitter account. T1 will be the opponent of the PUBG Mobile Indonesia team, Bigetron Ra and Morph Team who will also compete in the PMWL 2020 East division on 10 July.
This is also the first time T1 has entered mobile gaming and they are also one of the largest organizations in the world to enter PUBG MOBILE after Fnatic, Cloud9, TSM and Faze Clan. This announcement could also be a big factor for the South Korean region as the region is not known in this game.
There is a giveaway contest with a prize of 1 million rupiah in game vouchers in the application!
