Star Wars: Visions Anime Will Be Worked By Trigger and Other Popular Studios!

LucasFilm last weekend brought a special surprise with the appearance of an anthology anime series titled Star Wars: Visions. Yup, as the name suggests, this is indeed an anime that adapts the Star Wars universe, which has always been attached to the scent of Holywood. When we call it “anime”, it is based on the visual style and the involvement of several popular anime studios from Japan in the project.

Through the sneak peek video they shared, Star Wars: Visions is seen as a project that offers a variety of different stories with its own unique style, especially from the visual design and characters that are so thick from each studio. Behind the various differences, one element that sticks the most is the Japanese theme that is presented. James Waugh as Executive Producer of LucasFilm said that they want to present this project to every studio so they can be as creative as possible, like how the Star Wars universe wants to be created based on their imagination and creativity.

As we mentioned above, Star Wars: Visions is an anthology anime series, so the format will be broken up into several different story arcs. The following is a list of story arcs and which studios are working on them:

  • The Duel made by Kamikaze Douga
  • Lop & Ocho made by Geno Studio
  • Tatooine Rhapsody by Studio Colorido
  • The Twins and The Elder made by Studio Trigger
  • The Village Bride by Kinema Citrus
  • Akakiri and T0-B1 by Science Saru
  • The Ninth Jedi made by Production IG

The involvement of Trigger’s studio for The Twins and The Elder is what caught the attention of fans the most, especially because of the character design style that looks so typical of anime like Kill la Kill and Promare. Several other studios such as Production IG, Kinema Citrus, and Studio Colorido also attract attention, especially from their solid track record in producing quality shows.

Regarding the broadcast schedule, Star Wars: Visions can be watched on the Disney+ service starting September 22. You can check the latest developments from the availability of the anime on the official website HERE.
