Brazil Team Disqualified from First Strike Due to COVID-19

The Vorax Fusion team received a disqualification decision from the Brazilian Valorant First Strike event. This is after two team members Leonardo “fzkk” Puertas and Hiago “delevingne” Baldi were diagnosed with COVID-19.

Riot Games and Vorax finally agreed that this disqualification was for the best. Vorax also doesn’t want to cause trouble for the participants or other parties in Brazil’s Valorant First Strike. First Strike is run differently for each region. Brazil does want the tournament to be held face-to-face at the venue to maintain competitive integrity.

The Vorax team via its Twitter account, posted:
“We understand that participation in face-to-face events can lead to new cases, which we want to avoid. While it was a tough decision, we believe it was right to separate us from the Valorant First Strike tournament head-on. ”

Most of the Valorant community in Brazil had voiced that Riot would allow Vorax to compete from home. But again, the event and preparations have been made so that it seems impossible for a sudden change. With the disqualification of Vorax, the Havan Liberty team immediately qualified for the next round.
