Brazilian Football Legend Ronaldo Buys Shares In CNB E-Sports Club


Brazilian football legend and two-time FIFA world cup champion, Ronaldo Luis Nazario de Lima, aka “Ronaldo Fenomeno,” bought a partial stake in Brazilian team CNB e-Sports Club. The deal has been under discussion since August 2016.

Ronaldo joined together with Brazilian poker star André Akkari, and Igor Trafane Federal, CEO of the Brazilian Series of Poker (BSOP), to own a 50% stake in the organization together. while the other 50% stake remains in the hands of the organization’s founders, the Cleber Brothers “Fuzi” Fonseca and Carlos “Fury” Júnior stated. “The management remains the same, with me and my brother,” said Carlos Júnior.

“Esports is a trend globally and also in Brazil. This is an impressive move!” said Ronaldo, in a press release. “As athletes, we see CNB as having ideals that align with ours, and we will transfer the adrenaline from playing football and table poker to Esports.”

The deal has been under discussion since August 2016, and the contract was finally signed this week in Rio de Janeiro.
