Dota 2 Professional Team Roster Change Recap Post The International 7 (Part 5)

After The International 7 event ended, many pro teams immediately stepped on the gas to revamp the roster. This is based on the team’s performance which may be below management’s expectations. Who are the teams that have made the overhaul?

21. Team Alliance

After failing to enter The Interantional 7 event, 3 Team Alliance players had to be expelled, namely the team captain, Simon ‘Handsken’ Haag, their mid player, Linus ‘Limmp’ Blomdin and offlaner, Jonas ‘jonassomfan’ Lindholm. Now the remaining 2 players namely Adrian “Era” Kryeziu and Axel “Pablo” Källman also have to suffer the same fate after a series of poor results and no achievements for Team Alliance.

Now Team Alliance will entrust their roster to their former captain who managed to bring Team Alliance to victory at The International 3, namely Jonathan “Loda” Berg. So Loda will have the right to determine which roster will join her in the Team Alliance later.

Team Alliance’s current roster:

– Jonathan “Loda” Berg

22. Team Spirit

After a long time they benched 2 of their players namely Stanislav “633” Glushan and Ivan “VANSKOR” Skorokhod. Now Team Spirit has decided to replace 2 of their players with new players, namely Igor “iLTW” Filatov and Malta “Biver” Winter.

Igor “iLTW” Filatov is a carry player from the M19 team. There he is quite shining and has many fans who see him as a player who can have a better career. Then there’s Malta “Biver” Winter from Denmark who was previously on Natus Vincere’s team. There he also managed to get a good reputation although in the end the Na’Vi team decided to stop working with the only European player in the team.

Team Spirit’s current roster:

– Igor ‘iLTW’ Filatov
– Bogdan ‘Iceberg’ Vasilenko
– Alexander ‘DkPhobos’ Kuchera
– Artem ‘fng’ Barshak
– Maltese ‘Biver’ Winter

23. Return of 5 player EX-MVP Phoenix

After almost 1 year of separation, now 5 players from the former Phoenix MVP team will reunite in the same team. However, it is still unknown whether they will return to play with the MVP banner or create a new team. This news came from Kim ‘QO’ Seon-Yeob who made a Tweet saying that these 5 South Korean players are Kim ‘QO’ Seon-Yeob, Lee ‘Forev’ Sang-don, Pyo ‘MP’ No-a, Kim ‘ Febby’ Yong-min, and Kim ‘DuBu’ Duyoung will re-join a team.

Now the five of them will be reunited in the same team. Seeing their achievements together and also after the five of them have tasted various other teams and gained new experiences, it seems that this South Korean team will become a new force in the SEA region.

South Korea’s current team roster:

– Kim ‘QO’ Seon-Yeob
– Pyo ‘MP’ Noa
– Sang-Don ‘FoREv’ Lee
– Kim ‘Febby’ Yong-min
– Kim ‘DuBu’ Duyoung

24. Clinton ‘Fear’ Loomis is Back

After a long time retiring from professional event 2, “The old man” who once won The International 5 with the Evil Geniuses team will return to play to replace zai who chose to leave the team. He has been with the Evil Geniuses team since 2011 and had a break due to injury in 2014. Then in 2015 when he returned he managed to become a champion at The International 5 and in 2016 at The International 6 after successfully reaching the top 3 he announced to retire.

After retiring he was chosen to be the coach of the Evil Geniuses team, unfortunately this year at The International 7 the Evil Geniuses team was only able to reach 9-12 and made Zai decide to leave the team. Seeing the void, Fear finally decided to return as a player and become the captain of this team.

Current roster of the Evil Geniuses team:

– Artour ‘Arteezy’ Babaev
– Sumail ‘SumaiL’ Syed Hassan
– Saahil ‘Universe’ Arora
– Andreas ‘Cr1t-‘ Nielsen
– Clinton ‘Fear’ Loomis

25. OG

After poor results in The International 7 event by only being able to reach the top 8 position, the OG team finally decided to replace their Midlaner with a new player.

Due to the failure of the players to achieve this target, the OG team took the decision to release Anathan ‘Ana’ Pham who is their Midlaner and replace him with Roman ‘Resolut1on’ Fomynok a former Team Empire player and also Planet Odd. Resolut1on was part of the Digital Chaos team that managed to reach position 2 at The International 6, then he created a new team, Planet Odd, which ultimately failed to bring himself into The International 7 and was disbanded after that.

Roster of the current OG team:

– Johan ‘N0tail’ Sundstein
– Roman ‘Resolut1on’ Fomynok
– Gustav ‘s4’ Magnusson
– Jesse ‘JerAx’ Vainikka
– Tal ‘Fly’ Aizik

26. EHOME

Joined in September 2016, Liu ‘Garder’ Xinzhou is often in and out of the EHOME team. Now the team manager has finally decided to replace Garder with a player from Vici Gaming, namely Xu ‘Hym’ Zhi. In the Vici Gaming team, Hym served as a Support player who seemed to be desperately needed by the EHOME team.

In the EHOME team, there are 2 players from the Wings Gaming team who won at The International 6, namely Zhang ‘Faith_bian’ Ruida and Zhang ‘y`/Innocence’ Yiping. With Wang ‘old chicken’ Zhiyong as team captain, it seems that the EHOME team has enough potential to be able to compete with other teams in China. The biggest problem for the EHOME team is that because it has 2 former Wings Gaming players who are having problems with ACE (Association for Chinese Esports) which is an E-Sports association in China, it seems that their team will not get a direct invitation to a tournament.

The current roster of the EHOME team:

– Wang ‘old chicken’ Zhiyong (Captain)
– Chen ‘Cty’ Tianyu
– Zhang ‘Faith_bian’ Ruida
– Xu ‘Hym’ Zhi
– Zhang ‘y`/Innocence’ Yiping

27. LGD. Forever Young

Ren ‘eLeVeN’ Yangwei is a player from EHOME who was loaned to the LGD team from March 2017. With the help of eLeVeN, the LGD team was able to reach the top 3 positions at The Summit 7 and became champions in the 2017 Mars Dota 2 League event and was able to reach the position The top 4 at the most prestigious event, The International 2017. Unfortunately, the LGD team had to separate from Offlaner from China because the loan period had expired.

As a replacement for eLeVeN, the LGD team chose to use the services of Xu ‘Fy’ Linsen. Fy has been considered the best Rubick player in the world and is known as a reliable Support player with many years of experience. Together with his former team, Lu ‘Fenrir’ Chao, they managed to become the best Support duo in the world. Now he has made a drastic decision by leaving his team and choosing to become an Offlaner.

Current roster of LGD.Forever Young:

– Wang ‘Ame’ Chunyu
– Lu ‘Maybe’ Yao
– Xu ‘Fy’ Linsen
– Chen ‘Victoria’ Guanhong
– Yao ‘Yao’ Zhengzheng
