Epic Games Store Finally Supports Rupiah!

Apart from its initial debut which was considered too ambitious and even invited a negative response, it must be admitted that the Epic Games Store brings quite fierce competition with Steam. As part of a strategy to continually refine its platform to make it accessible to more gamers, the Epic Games Store is now available supports Rupiah (IDR).

This means that gamers in Indonesia can buy games on the platform more easily, including using e-money at the nearest minimarket. This support also includes game price formats which, if previously only displayed in USD, have now automatically become Rupiah. Apart from Indonesia, another country that we know has received similar support is Malaysia where the Epic Games Store in their area also supports Ringgi (RM) currency.

It was an unexpected surprise, especially since there was no official announcement from Epic Games itself. But unfortunately this change actually has an impact on some games whose prices are higher. Either there has been no conversion adjustment or indeed the new price set is final, obviously don’t be surprised if there are some targeted games that are now becoming more expensive.

Still related to this platform, in previous news we had reported that Epic had spent up to USD 444 million or around IDR 6.6 trillion more to secure the exclusivity of the game. Currently they are arguably still in the “wasting money” phase which has proven to be quite effective and brings up to hundreds of millions of new users to their platform.

So what do you think about the Epic Games Store? Are you one of the users who actively shop and claim free games on this platform?
