Esports Competed at the 2018 Asian Games as a Demonstration Sport

Esports is recognized as one of the official sports in the world, now getting closer to reality. After the OCA or Olympic Council Asia issued a statement that Esports will be one of the demonstration sports at the 2018 Asian Games which will be held in Jakarta and Palembang, Indonesia.

Even in this month of September, Esports has become one of the Demonstration sports at the 5th AIMAG 2017 (Asian Indoor And Martial Arts Games), which will be held in Turkmenistan.

From the information provided by Mr. Eddy Lim, General Chairperson of IeSPA who is also the Founder of Ligagame Esports, Esports’ steps to become one of the world’s recognized sports have been carried out several years ago. Even in 2013, at the 4th AIMAG 2013 held in Incheon, Esports has become one of the demonstration sports there.

According to the latest information, at the 2022 asian games Hangzhou, esports will be the official sport to compete for medals. The steps taken by IeSPA to help the International Esports Federation or IeSF and make Esports a demonstration sport at the 2018 Asian Games, Jakarta, have been carried out intensively since 2016.

IeSPA itself will cooperate with Ligagame Esports, to conduct a national elimination in selecting esports athletes who will represent Indonesia in international competitions.

According to the news, Ligagame in the 3rd quarter of this year, will hold a national elimination to send Indonesian esports athletes to the 9th world games championship in Busan, South Korea.
