Judgment Opens New Teaser Website, Signals a Sequel?

Rumors that had circulated about the existence of a sequel to Judgment seemed to be starting to show a bright spot. Today SEGA and developer Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio have opened a new teaser website entitled “Judgment Day“. This website contains a countdown time which signals that there will be a special announcement on the 7th of May.

There’s no clarity on what kind of announcements will be prepared, but we’ll try to take some predictions. First, this website provides options for English, Japanese and many more which indicates that whatever project is being prepared, it will likely be announced for a global version as well. Some people predict that this is an announcement for the release of the game on other platforms such as PC, but we think that guess is not quite right.

The reason is because SEGA doesn’t need to create a new website with a countdown if this just ends up as a regular port, especially considering that the PlayStation 5 version of Judgment didn’t even get its own teaser website. Usually the opening of a teaser website like this indicates an even bigger project. Especially considering that there were rumors from several reliable sources some time ago, we think this could indeed be related to the continuation of the new sequel.

Judgment is now available exclusively on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series and Stadia. For a while the game hasn’t been confirmed for release for other platforms, but we wouldn’t be surprised if SEGA would bring it to PC just like the Yakuza franchise too.
