Respond to Fan Requests, Sony Won't Close PlayStation Store PS3 and PS Vita
Last month Sony brought the unfortunate news of their plans to shut down the PlayStation Store service for the PlayStation 3, PlayStation Vita and PlayStation Portable. They did this plan in order to put the main focus on platforms that are more played by players, namely PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. Their plan is understandable, but not a few gamers actually disagree and even make a petition that gets a lot of voice support.
Seeing how the PlayStation community is still paying close attention to the old platform, finally Jim Ryan as CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment brought an important announcement last night. Through his latest post on the PlayStation Blog, he confirmed that their plans to shut down the PlayStation Store service on PS3 and PS Vita have been canceled. Even so they will still follow the plan to eliminate access to other purchases for the PlayStation Portable on July 2nd.
So from now on, players don’t have to worry about losing access to buy games and other online services to the PlayStation Store. It’s just that this news is quite late to convey, because we can imagine that there are already many gamers who panic and rush to secure what game they want to buy.
At least even though Sony has shifted its full focus to PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 as the main platforms, we hope they will maintain support so that their old platform can still be accessed by gamers easily, even if it’s only through game purchases and online access. just.
