T1 Collaboration With BTS For BTS RUN Event

Who doesn’t know T1 or BTS? This esports team that won three League of Legends world champions and this K-pop sensation group collaborated to present an interesting project!

The project was originally announced in a post on T1’s official twitter account. Based on the post, the collaboration was introduced using the hashtag #T1xRUNTS and the caption “Ready to Run?” it shows a short 16 second video.

RUN BTS is a long-term variety show from BTS, where all the members are faced with several challenges and missions. This show itself has reached more than 100 episodes, equipped with exciting and interesting games from dance competitions to singing, never fails to bring laughter to the audience.

For this collaboration, T1 consisting of Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok, Park “Teddy” Jin-sung, Lee “Effort” Sang-ho, Mun “Cuzz” Uchan, and Kim “Canna” Chang-dong, entered the show. RUN BTS on episodes 114 and 115 on the VLIVE app started last Tuesday (11/3/2020).

During the event, Faker was seen singing, playing rock-paper-scissors, Fall Guys to see each other’s reactions. It’s so unique!

But do you know, actually the BTS group itself has been a fan for a long time with T1 and Faker? Considering that they are the best League of Legends team from Korea, it’s only natural.

On the other hand, one of the T1 players, Effort, is also a member of the BTS Army. So, why did he dye his hair blue, inspired by BTS V.

Because of the large names of these “stars”, it was reported that BTS members and Faker received special treatment from the Korean government by giving them waivers to delay their military service.

K-Pop, Riot Games, and the World of Esports

In recent years, K-Pop can be said to have coexisted with the world of esports.

Its soaring popularity inspired Riot Games to create a Virtual Pop Group under the name K/DA in League of Legends and LoL Wild Rift. They even used K-Pop artists, such as (G)I-dle, Miyeon and Soyeon to voice the champions (Ahri and Akali).

Riot also briefly included Shannon Williams, a singer from Korea, to voice Agent Jett in the Valorant game.

Unexpectedly, esports organizations can work together with k-pop groups.

What an interesting collaboration, guys! Are you one of the BTS fans? For those of you who are interested, you can watch the RUN BTS x T1 program on Vlive or Weverse.
