MindControl and Kuku Add to List of Missing Players at ONE Esports Singapore Major
From the post on social media, it is certain that the Nigma team will not appear in full force in the ONE Esports Singapore Major Dota 2 tournament. This was confirmed after a post from the Nigma team’s social media stated that MindControl was not feeling well before undergoing the bootcamp which was held in preparation for competing at the Singapore Major.
After undergoing an examination, it was finally revealed that the Bulgarian offlaner had contracted the Covid-19 virus and was confirmed to be absent from the ONE Esports Singapore Major tournament. To fill the vacancy, the coach from the Nigma team, namely Roman “rmN-“ Paley, will appear as a stand-in in the Singapore Major performance.

This is not the first time for rmN- to play directly for the team he coached. rmN- had stepped down to replace the Nigma team captain Kuro “KuroKy” Salehi Takhasomi in several events in 2020. At that time rmN- intervened to help his foster children while waiting for KuroKy to recover from the hand injury he suffered at the time.
In the absence of MindControl, it is likely that the Nigma team will experience a shock, even though they have to fight in this tournament earlier than other teams because they have to fight through the wild card round.
In addition to MindControl, the latest news also states that Carlo “Kuku” Palad, offlaner for the T1 team from the Philippines is also rumored to be absent from the Singapore Major. From the T1 team’s post they said that Kuku would not be attending the Singapore Major due to recent health problems. Kuku’s absence forced T1 to include Lee “Forev” Sang-dong to fill the void.
The news that MindControl is infected with the Covid-19 virus and Nails experiencing health problems certainly adds to the long list of Dota 2 pro players who will be absent from the Singapore Major, the first international and inter-regional LAN tournament to be held after Dota 2 closed all their offline tournaments due to the Covid-19 pandemic. 19.
