Mixer Closed, Streamers Will Be Redirected to Facebook Gaming – Microsoft made a surprising announcement today. The announcement is the closure of the Mixer live stream service.

Mixer was first introduced by Microsoft in January 2021. After running for four years, Mixer managed to become the second largest live streaming platform after Twitch. Entering 2021, Mixer even has nearly 4 million channels and is home to some of the world’s streamers including Ninja and Shroud. But sadly, Microsoft just announced some bad news today.

Via account Mixer’s official Twitter, Microsoft announced that their live streaming service, Mixer, will be shutting down soon. Microsoft is known to have collaborated with Facebook’s new live streaming platform, Facebook Gaming. They said that all streamers and viewers would later be redirected to Facebook Gaming.

Mixer is closed, this is how the fans respond

This announcement certainly received an unfavorable response from many people. Even many of them feel toyed by Microsoft. Because making the transition from one platform to another is not an easy thing. They also say that this is not a ‘partnership’ for the steamers, it’s just money.

The existence of this announcement also raises questions about the fate of world streamers like Ninja and Shroud who has decided to leave Twitch and join Mixer. Due to the move, they lost a lot of viewers.
