Vici Gaming Team From China Expands To Regional North America By Taking isGG Tim Team
After completing an overhaul of their core team, namely Vici Gaming and VGJ, the management has now decided to expand to the North America region by taking a new team there.
This year may not be the year for the pro Dota 2 team from China because they have no achievements at all by only being able to get a top 8 position at the 2017 Kiev Major event with the VGJ team. They also failed to qualify for The International 7 which finally made the management take steps to make an overhaul in their core team roster.
But they seem to see a potential in the North America region which may not be as tough as the Chinese region in terms of competition. They finally decided to take over a new team, the isGG team, which consisted of several veteran players and talented young players from the North America region. The team included Eric ‘747’ Dong and Stanley ‘StanKing’ Yang as well as a rising young player, Francis ‘FLEE’ Lee.
Then the last 2 players are Jingjun ‘Sneyking’ Wu, a former Team Dignitas player and Ravindu ‘Ritsu’ Kodippili from team Bulba + 4. Later, the team, which will be named VGJ Storm, will be trained by translators, analysts, and a well-known host in Dota 2, Jack ‘KBBQ’ Chen.
Although this team is not the best in the North America region, they were able to reach the 3rd position in the NA regional qualifier for The International 7 and were able to secure first place in the ROG MASTERS 2017 Americas Regional Qualifier where the LAN Finals event is about to start. So maybe Vici Gaming’s decision to take this team is the right decision.
The following is the current roster of the VGJ Storm team:
– Ravindu ‘Ritsu’ Kodippili
– Eric ‘747’ Dong
– Jingjun ‘Sneyking’ Wu
– Francis ‘FLEE’ Lee
– Stanley ‘StanKing’ Yang
