Ahead of Release, Scarlet Nexus Shares Lots of New Details and Opening Cool Anime!
Developed as the latest action RPG game project from the team behind the God Eater and Code Vein franchises, Bandai Namco deserves two thumbs up in their highly effective marketing move for Scarlet Nexus. Approaching the release of the game which is only a month away, Bandai finally returned to share a myriad of new details from the game that explained the gameplay concept to the opening of the cool anime concoction of the Sunrise studio.
Scarlet Nexus tells the story of Yuito and Kasane who are each caught in the thread of an unexpected destiny as members of the Other Suppression Force (OSF). Apart from the fact that they have to carry out the task of protecting New Himuka from the threat of a monster organism called Other, Yuito and Kasane are finally reunited as enemies who each have their own point of view, including different partners who support them. So throughout the game you will be given different story points of view from the two main characters.
As for the gameplay portion, Scarlet Nexus is an action RPG that allows you to use psychokinesis skills that can be combined with the strengths of other OSF members. This power can be borrowed thanks to the Struggle Arms System (SAS) which allows the characters you control with party members to connect with each other. Even though Yuito and Kasane have powers based on the same psychokinesis, they are still equipped with very different weapons and movesets to make each character feel unique.
To make the game more intense, the gameplay in Scarlet Nexus also offers a DRIVE system which is a special phase where the character’s strength, speed and psychokinetic stats are increased. This brain drive phase can be entered after you manage to get enough concentration when attacking and defeating enemies.
The effects of powers that involve the brain can make your character feel overwhelmed, so when in Brain Field mode (similar to power up or rage mode), the character you play can’t attack with weapons but pure psychokinetic power without any limitations.
While you’re out on the battlefield and relaxing, you can also develop deeper relationships with other OSF members through the Bond system. Each character will have a different story episode that not only provides background depth for each character, but also enhances the power of their SAS to make them more effective when invited to battle together. In addition to communicating, the way to improve Bond can also be done by giving gifts to the character you are focusing on.
Not to be missed, Bandai has also released an anime opening video for Scarlet Nexus featuring the song “Dream in Drive” from the Japanese rock band – The Oral Cigarettes. The animation of the opening is handled by Sunrise, who also happens to be the studio appointed to work on the anime adaptation for the game which is ready to air in July.
When will the Game and Anime Release?
Scarlet Nexus is scheduled to be released on June 25 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series, and PC via Steam. Meanwhile, the anime adaptation by Sunrise will start airing in July 2021. Pre-order access is available at Bandai Namco official website in the Standard and Deluxe Edition versions which are pegged at Rp. 749,000 and Rp. 1,070,240.
