EDG Launches Super Magnificent Esports Arena Project

EDG (Edward Gaming) esports organization will get gaming facilities largest and grandest in China as well as Asia. The parent organization engaged in the property sector has prepared a land area of 500,000 meters for development Shanghai International New Cultural and Creative eSports Center. This project in total will cost up to $1.55 billion US Dollars, when converted in IDR 14,000 per dollar, it is equivalent to IDR 21.7 trillion, to the record for the most expensive esports project in the world.

Shanghai International NC & Creative eSports Center will be the largest esports vehicle in the world. Currently the biggest esports arena is Arlington located in Texas, USA. on an area of 100,000 m. Since officially opening in November 2018, Arlington has always been the venue for prestigious events such as FACEIT’s Esports Championship Series Finals.

Reported from esportsobserver, Thursday (7/1/2021), the laying of the first stone was carried out in the Minhang District area of Shanghai, China. The development of the esports center aims to provide comfort when enjoying esports. EDG reportedly obtained an initial investment of US$774 million or equivalent to Rp10.83 trillion.

Jiangzhu Yuan as vice president of SuperGen Group, stated that the facility to be built could attract hundreds of esports companies, and offer around 2,000 esports-related jobs.

When construction is complete, this area will be able to facilitate 300 international esports competitions every year, with a capacity of 10,000 visitors per day. Visitors can enjoy and spend the night in a five-star esports-themed hotel with breakdancing, diving and indoor skydiving facilities, and other attraction facilities.

For the esports facility, EDG is preparing the organization’s new home and office building. The Shanghai International NCC & Esports Center will function as a venue as well as Edward Gaming’s office. In addition to EGD, several LPL (League of Legends China) team organizations will join including LGD Gaming, Oh My God, JD Gaming, LNG Esports, Team WE, and Royal Never Give Up.
