Final Fantasy VII: Ever Crisis Will Be Available FREE on Mobile

In addition to Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade, Square Enix last month also brought surprises from two new mobile games that continue to take the universe from the seventh series. One of the games that has attracted the attention of fans the most is Final Fantasy VII: Ever Crisis, which is claimed to be a compilation of remakes of the entire Final Fantasy VII universe that is specially packaged in one mobile game.

In order to answer fans’ curiosity about this ambitious-sounding project, the interview session from Famitsu with Testuya Nomura yesterday brought various interesting details. First, according to fans’ expectations, this game will be released for free, aka free-to-play. However, Aerith’s presence in the party at the beginning of the chapter is not an indication, but that Square Enix really wants to release all chapters in the game for free. The microtransaction elements in the game are only loot boxes or gacha to get weapons and costumes.

In addition to offering a complete story compilation from the Final Fantasy VII universe, this game is also sure to bring a new original story that focuses on the SOLDIER organization. So players can see some of the SOLDIER characters and members of Shinra in their youth, as well as how their roles were in the past before being known as the iconic figures they are today.

Regarding how players can use characters that shouldn’t be or are impossible to join the party, Nomura explained that he wants to give complete freedom so that players can create the party of their dreams. It’s also useful when players are faced with challenging battles that require the help of characters stronger than the “Party Canon” they’re trying to defend. With this there is a lot of freedom of play style which makes the game even more flexible.
