Five Pokemon Mobile Games on iOS and Android

Pokémon is one of the most famous series around the world. Satoshi / Ash’s adventures with Pikachu have been followed by millions of children around the world and are still ongoing today. The cultural impact of this series is huge and because of that the Pokémon series is often adapted to other media as intellectual property very famous.

Of course, mobile games cannot be separated from these media. While Pokémon’s primary medium is Nintendo’s latest handheld console, many spin-off Pokémon games have already made their way to iOS and Android. Below, we’ll cover five Pokémon games on mobile platforms.

Pokémon GO

Starting with the most famous names, Pokémon GO was immediately popular worldwide when it was released in 2016. Even now in 2020 this game is still popular and doesn’t seem to be losing popularity in the near future.

Pokémon GO itself is an ‘Augmented Reality’ or AR game where players explore the real world version of the game to find and catch Pokémon. Unlike in regular Pokémon games, players won’t battle Pokémon before catching them, but only need to throw a Pokéball to try to catch them.

By using the Pokémon they have caught, players can then participate in other activities such as Gym Battles and Raids. Niantic – the developer of Pokémon GO – even added an online PvP feature earlier this year where players can battle trainers from around the world.

Pokémon TCG Online

Next up is Pokémon TCG Online. Describing the game isn’t difficult: Pokémon TCG Online is a digital version of the card game Pokémon. Unfortunately, this game is only played using an Android tablet or iPad because the screen size required is larger than a cellphone.

Like other online card games, players can use Pokémon cards against the computer or other players. After choosing their first deck between Grass, Fire, and Water as in other Pokémon games, players can start growing their collection by opening card packs and strengthening their decks.

Pokémon Masters EX

Pokémon Masters, the game now known as Pokémon Masters EX, is an RPG where players can fight 3v3 using their Pokémon. It’s the player’s job to use Pokémon that work well together and guide them in the match.

But the Pokémon they use don’t actually belong to the player. All Pokémon in Pokémon Masters EX come in ‘Sync Pairs’ consisting of a trainer from the game mainline Pokémon and its main Pokémon. An example is the Sync Pair consisting of Cynthia, the Champion from the Sinnoh region, and her flagship Pokémon, Garchomp.

In battle, each Sync Pair has a different role. The Strike Sync Pair will focus on attacking, the Support Sync Pair will focus on defending and healing, while the Tech Sync Pair will have other tactics.

Pokémon Quest

All Pokémon have turned into squares? Pokémon Quest is an action adventure game in which players explore Tumblecube Island with their Pokémon friends.

The gameplay of Pokémon Quest can be divided into three parts: expeditions, camp management, and strengthening the Pokémon team. First for the expedition, players will bring three Pokémon to defeat all the wild Pokémon on the island. Each Pokémon has a regular attack and a special attack that they can use to defeat other Pokémon.

In the camp, players can put decorations to decorate it. But the main function of the camp is to make food that attracts new Pokémon. Food ingredients can be found by players on expeditions, and different foods attract certain Pokémon.

Of course, like many other Pokémon games, players can train their Pokémon. They can do this by taking Pokémon on expeditions, or using other Pokémon to train their Pokémon. After training is complete, the trainer Pokémon will leave the player while the Pokémon being trained will become stronger.

Pokémon Café Mix

The last game on this list is Pokémon Café Mix. In this game the player plays as a cafe owner who serves delicious food and drinks to Pokémon. They do this by solving a puzzle for every order they get.

By completing an order, players can improve their café by adding rooms and floors. This will attract the attention of other Pokémon who want to be part of the staff. The Pokémon on the staff can assist players in solving their puzzles in a variety of different ways, such as changing certain icons into different ones.
