MATUMBAMAN Enters Forbes Sports & Games Europe Top 30 List 2021

Forbes is a business and financial magazine founded in the United States whose reputation has been recognized worldwide. As a leading economic media, Forbes also regularly publishes a list of successful people by their total wealth. That’s why we often hear the news”Forbes Magazine’s Richest People ListWell, besides releasing a list of sultans and conglomerates in the business world, Forbes also has several categories and coverage areas.

This is the sixth iteration of the List 30 Under 30 Forbes for the European region. This year’s announcement consists of various categories ranging from Sports & Games, Arts & Culture, Social Impact, and more.

Team Secret’s carry player, MATUMBAMAN, is included in the Forbes 30 Under 30 Europe 2021 Sports & Games list. Yup, this means that the Finnish pro player is included in the list of the 30 richest professional athletes in Europe under the age of 30. Currently, the young man whose full name is Lasse Aukusti Urpalainen is only 26 years old. According to Liquipedia, MATUMBAMAN has collected $1,143,189 USD in prize money till now.

MATUMBAMAN is included in the Top 30 list after a successful year of Dota 2 competition. The year 2020 was indeed extraordinary for MATU and Team Secret as they managed to win eight consecutive Dota 2 tournaments with 3-0 victories in each of the eight grand finals.

“MATUMBAMAN” Urpalainen is one of three professional esports players to have been part of this 2021 roster. The inclusion of MATU in this elite list is now an additional gem in the Team Secret championship belt after their midlaner, Nisha, was awarded the Esports PC Player of the Year at the 2020 Esports Awards. MATUMBAMAN has been included in the Forbes 30 Under 30 Europe 2021 Sports & Games list which lists sportsmen and esports pro players in Europe and the UK. The Forbes website also features a profile of MATUMBAMAN as a Dota 2 gamer and a brief description of his playing career.

Apart from the Dota2 scene, several names from other esports lines have also been included in this magazine, including Mathieu “ZywOo” Herbaut who is a CS:GO player and Luka “Perkz” Perković in the League of Legends scene.

MATUMBAMAN had an illustrious and prominent Dota 2 career after winning the TI7 title with Team Liquid. In addition, he has won several top-flight tournaments during his time with the team in 2015-19, including EPICENTER 2016, 2017, and China Dota2 Supermajor. Even after leaving the team and joining Team Secret in 2019, this Finnish pro player continues to look solid and collect awards.

Previously, other Dota 2 players have also featured on various Forbes lists – Team Nigma captain, KuroKy on DACH (Germany, Austria and Switzerland) 2020 roster, former OG carry, Ana, on Asian 2020 roster, offlaner NAVI RAMZES666, on Russia roster in in 2019 and the current OG captain, N0tail, on the global roster in 2018.
