Monster Hunter World Successfully Sold 17 Million Copies, Still Capcom's Best Selling Game!
Starting as an experimental franchise from Capcom, the name Monster Hunter has now become much bigger and has a lot of new player base. This was especially felt after the release of Monster Hunter World which was specially developed as the main series whose releases covered many mainstream platforms. Thanks to the quality of the game that was formulated very solidly, especially from the extra content through the Iceborne expansion, now Monster Hunter World has managed to achieve a new record of success again.
Through the latest financial report that Capcom shared last week, they reported that Monster Hunter World has successfully sold 17.1 million copies worldwide. From the data collected, there is an increase in sales of 300 thousand copies over the last three months, not including the additional 500 thousand copies from Iceborne, which has now sold 7.7 million copies. With this achievement, Monster Hunter World still maintains its dominance as the best-selling game in Capcom’s corporate history.

In addition, the new game that was just released on the Nintendo Switch, Monster Hunter Rise, also recorded an impressive record. In just a short period of time, the game has successfully achieved sales of 4.8 million copies. Moreover, with the planned release on the PC platform next year, it is certain that sales will continue to increase consistently.
If you look at the current position of the franchise, Monster Hunter as a whole has achieved record sales of 72 million copies. This number is still inferior to the Resident Evil franchise which according to reports has managed to reach sales of 110 million copies. Hopefully these extraordinary achievements can be a motivational boost for Capcom to continue to create more quality games in the future.
For those of you who are curious about the game, Monster Hunter World is already available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. As for the new series, Monster Hunter Rise, it has only been released for Nintendo Switch, but next year the game is planned to be released on PC. In addition, there is also a new spin-off game titled Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin which will be released simultaneously on Nintendo Switch and PC on July 9.
