OG Says Sayonara to The International 10?
Will OG still have a chance to keep Aegis this year? After failing to qualify for the first Major in Singapore, OG again did not qualify for the upcoming second Major. Not only that, N0tail et al are now in danger of facing the potential for degradation. Their only remaining chance of reaching The International is a Regional Qualifier.
Two-time champion The International OG did not make it to WePlay AniMajor after losing 0-2 to Team Liquid in the final round of the DPC EU 2021 series. With this defeat, OG’s position dropped to fifth with Tundra Esports and Brame. All three teams now have to battle it out with tie-breakers to stay in DPC21: WEU to avoid relegation. While Liquid immediately shot to second place and secured a ticket to the Animajor Group Stage.
Failing to qualify for AniMajor further closed OG’s chances of getting the points needed to compete in The International.
OG actually had to prepare for a tie-break match with Tundra and Brame, all of whom had a score of 3-4. All three teams will have to battle it out in three tie-breaks on May 22 to determine which one team will be relegated to the Lower Division.

Playoffs: Alliance
Group Stage: Team Liquid
Wild Card: Nigma
Wildcards: Team Secret

Only one chance left to play at The International. Since OG already missed the first Major of the year, they are short on DPC points. With 42.5 points, the defending champion will certainly not receive a direct invite to The International. Due to the new system being implemented by Valve for the first time this year, there will be no traditional Open Qualifiers to come. Instead, there will be Regional Qualifiers where one team from each of the six regions will advance to TI.
All 12 remaining spots will be filled by the team with the most DPC points across the Regional and Major Leagues.
