Only 2 Months Released, Resident Evil Village Has Sold 4.5 Million Copies Worldwide

It doesn’t feel like two months have passed since the release of Resident Evil Village, and so far the game is still receiving strong attention. Apart from the fact that Capcom is preparing a new DLC that looks like it will add deeper story content, it turns out that Resident Evil Village has sold at even more fantastic numbers in the past month.

So based on a new report shared today, Capcom confirmed that Resident Evil Village has sold 4.5 million copies worldwide. The game’s last sales report was on May 26, and at that time the game had already reached the 4 million mark in less than a month. So if you count at least this game has managed to sell half a million copies even after the hype has decreased.

Interestingly, Resident Evil Village has set a new record as the fastest selling game in its franchise, with the game hitting the three million-copy mark in just four days. Maybe the total achievement is still difficult to surpass Resident Evil 5, but at least this is good news that further motivates Capcom in making new, higher quality games. If rumors of a Resident Evil 4 remake are true, then they could be going even higher.
