Phantasy Star Online 2 x Sword Art Online Collaboration Will Visit Global Server

SEGA’s dedication in supporting the existence of its classic franchise deserves thumbs up. One of the best examples can be seen from Phantasy Star Online 2 which until now still has a large community base in many regions, despite the age of the game which is quite old. With its current release reaching the western region, SEGA has finally been able to bring a variety of new content that was previously only available on the Japanese server version.

One of the new content that happened to be announced some time ago was a collaboration with Sword Art Online. The event, which is planned to be held on May 12, will present new content ranging from avatars, Weapon Camo, Lobby Action, and many more. Kirito and Asuna will also appear as guest characters that you can meet at the Shopping Plaza, and if you can help them complete various missions, there will be additional interesting rewards to be obtained.

This collaboration brings a new original story that gives Kirito and Asuna the main spotlight. By completing the Client Order of these two characters, you can get a special event in the Lobby which then continues to the main story. The story missions that you take on will later give you rewards in the form of exclusive Emotes and various other important items, so make sure to immediately participate in the event to claim all the prizes.

For those of you who are still unfamiliar with the game, Phantasy Star Online 2 is an MMORPG that takes players on an adventure in the new PSO universe. With a focus on action-based gameplay that is still very exciting, as well as various mechanisms and unique features of its own, this game is still proven to be able to compete strongly with many other popular MMORPG games on the market. Incidentally SEGA is also preparing a new game expansion entitled Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis which looks superior with fantastic graphics, a more magnificent world setting, to intense action gameplay.

Phantasy Star Online 2 itself is available and can be played immediately for free. While Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis is planned to be released on PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC in 2021.
