Riot Games Will Release Ruined King, League of Legends RPG Game
Ruined King: A League of Legends Story is a game that takes the story from League of Legends and molds it into an RPG. The game was released in early 2021 for Nintendo Switch, Playstation 4, Xbox One, PC (via Steam and Epic Games Store) and was followed by Playstation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
Ruined King was actually announced about a year ago (along with a short trailer), but since then there hasn’t been any news from the developer. Naturally, Riot is quite busy releasing new games in 2020 from Valorant, Legends of Runeterra, to Wild Rift.
But in the end, Riot was ready for action again. They released a new trailer along with some more information about the Ruined King.
Ruined King is part of Riot Forge, one of Riot’s publishing brands. Riot Forge indicated that Riot had given permission to a third party studio to develop a game based on League of Legends. Ruined King itself will be developed by Airship Syndicate, the developer behind the games Darksiders Genesis and Battle Chasers: Nightwar.
Ruined King is a one-player RPG game, set in the Bilgewater and Shadow Isles regions of Runeterra (the planet of League of Legends). In the game, players are given the option to use several fan favorite champions, including Miss Fortune, Illaoi, Braum, Yasuo, Ahri, and Pyke.
In this new trailer, Riot finally shows an enemy figure (which seems to be the Ruined King). Judging from the title, the main mission of the player is to defeat the Ruined King. In the League of Legends game itself, the Ruined King is a sword item, not a character.
Riot promises to provide more details about the game in December. For those who are curious, just wait!
