Ryan Reynolds Joins Detective Pikachu Film Project

Ryan Reynolds (Deadpool, Green Lantern) has joined the Pokemon live action film project entitled Detective Pikachu. According to THR, the husband of Blake Lively will be opposite Justice Smith (The Get Down, Paper Towns) and Kathryn Newton (Big Little Lies, Supernatural). Rumor has it that Reynolds will play a character who uses motion capture technology (Pikachu?).

The story of this film will be set about the kidnapping of the father of the character played by Smith which then leads him to work with Pikachu. They then tried to find and find the father. While Newton will play an ambitious journalist and then help them.

Detective Pikachu adapted from a Japanese-language game entitled The Great Detective Pikachu, which operates by means of “point-and-click.” This game tells about the adventures of Pikachu and a boy named Tim Goodman where they try to be mystery solvers. Pikachu’s appearance in this game also looks unique because he likes to wear a Sherlock Holmes hat and can communicate well.

This live action adaptation will be directed by the director Goosebumps, Rob Letterman with a script by Nicole Perlman (Captain Marvel) and Alex Hirsch (Galaxy Falls).
