Some of Square Enix's Classic Games Will Get Remakes by Forever Entertainment

Reviving classic games in the remaster/remake format seems to have become a trend that is increasingly common in today’s era. With so many developers trying to appeal to veteran fans while taking advantage of their classic IPs, it looks like we’ll be seeing more remakes of the game in the future. Talking about remake projects, recently publisher Forever Entertainment announced that they will remake several classic Square Enix games.

Through the information shared through latest press release, Forever Entertainment has partnered with the Japanese gaming giant to recreate some classic IPs. They did not provide information about the titles of the games, but more detailed information will be announced separately after the global scale campaign begins.

The remake project itself will retain the charm of the classic series, but with a significant overhaul of the visuals and improved gameplay mechanics. Forever Entertainment will get a profit of around 50% for each sale of its games on all platforms, with the remaining profits distributed to Square Enix as the IP holder of the games.

Forever Entertainment itself has been involved in several remake projects of the two classic game series Panzer Dragoon and The House of the Dead. Judging from the aspect of production value which is not so high, it seems that the remake project they will prepare is more directed towards small games from Square Enix. This means that remakes for games like Xenogears, Wild Arms to Parasite Eve might feel a little impossible.
