Lego Teams Up With Warner Bros. To Work On The LEGO Ninjago Movie

The LEGO toy empire seems to be expanding its wings in the world of the big screen. Following the success of The Lego Movie in 2014, Lego is working with Warner Bros. to develop this franchise. Among others, by making several LEGO-themed film projects such as The LEGO Batman Movie, LEGO’s Ninjago Movie and The LEGO Movie Sequel and Billion Brick Race. The LEGO Batman Movie is set for release on February 10, 2017, LEGO’s Ninjago Movie is set for release on September 22, 2017, while The LEGO Movie Sequel is released on May 18, 2018 and Billion Brick Race on May 24, 2019.

The LEGO Ninjago Movie will be directed by Charlie Bean (Tron: Uprising, Robotboy) with a script written by Dan Hageman and Kevin Hageman (Ninjago: Mastes of Spinjitsu). A recent development comes from the film project The LEGO Ninjago Movie concerning the lineup of voice castnya. Justin Theroux (Parks and Recreation, Six Feet Under) will voice Garmadon and Olivia Munn (X-Men: Apocalypse) will voice Koko. The two will be joined by Jackie Chan who will voice Master Wu, Dave Franco will voice Lloyd, Michael Peña will voice Kai, Abbi Jacobson will voice Nya, then Kumail Nanjiani will voice Jay, Zach Woods will voice Zane and Fred. Armisen as the voice of Cole’s character.
