Square Enix Will Permanently Close Mobile Game Kingdom Hearts Union X Dark Road

Maintaining the existence of a mobile game to keep it busy is not an easy challenge. Because apart from having to produce a game that is fun to play, the developer must be able to maintain an active community and player base by consistently updating content. Unfortunately, this scenario is often experienced by many car games from popular IPs, including Kingdom Hearts Union X Dark Road which is reportedly going to be permanently closed.

This information was announced by the management team through the game’s official website, where they confirmed that support for the Kingdom Hearts mobile game will be permanently discontinued starting this spring. Dark Road, which is the latest expansion version for the game, will also get the latest story content update in September.

Although the server will be closed, Square Enix has prepared a separate mode so that fans can play the game offline. This latest mode will be released via the latest update 4.4.0 on 30 May. The update will bring additional content such as the Theater Mode feature, the Classic Kingdom mini game, Record, and much more.

In addition, the developer is also preparing an update 5.0.0 which will be released in September. This latest update brings new story content for Dark Road as well as other adjustments to make the game more comfortable to play in offline mode. Regarding the reason for the closure itself, the developer did not provide clear information other than their plans to support the game for the next few months.
