Virtus.pro Disbands, VP.Prodigy Roster Rises To Be The Main Dota 2 Team

Who doesn’t know the Virtus.pro team, a team from Russia that often dominates the Dota 2 major. Indeed, after The International 8, the Virtus.pro team showed a poor performance. One of the reasons was the expiration of the player’s contract, which forced the team to continue to make roster changes.

In the end, the main team Virtus.pro began to be rarely seen in major Dota 2 competitions. While its sister team VP.Prodigy appeared more often, it could even be called the “Rising Star” for the CIS region.

VP.Prodigy is the second team from Virtus.pro which once contained Lil from Na’Vi. In their last competition at OGA Dota PIT Season 3 Europe / CIS, VP.Prodigy managed to get second place. They had to acknowledge the strength of Team Secret and were massacred 3-0. On the other hand, VP.Prodigy has given a very outstanding performance for the second class team.

Since September, the roster of Virtus.pro is included in the status inactive. Finally, the esports organization decided to disband Virtus.pro fronted by no[o]ne, Solo, Resolut1on, iLTW, and Zayac.

Instead, look at VP’s performance. Prodigy who are so strong in the CIS scene, they have transferred the entire roster to Virtus.pro to become their new main Dota 2 team.

“We run VP.Prodigy with one main goal – to give young talent the opportunity to thrive on the professional stage. This team has shown some phenomenal results: reaching the grand finals in five of the seven tournaments and winning three of them,” said Sergey Glamazda, CEO of Virtus.pro.

“We have two strong rosters, although at the same time we are limited in tournament options,” he added.

The newest VP.Prodigy roster, Vincere Ilyas “Illias” Ganeev, just moved to the team (from Na’Vi) a few days ago to complete his roster.
