Xbox Starts Seriously Making Its Name in the Southeast Asian Market?

Even though it is the largest and most popular home console brand in the world today along with PlayStation, it can’t be denied that Xbox is still not at a high level when it comes to competition. Apart from the lack of quality exclusive games, Xbox also tends to focus more on its marketing to western gamers, who are their biggest target consumers. But this is slowly starting to change where Xbox is starting to seriously market its brand in the Asian region.

One of the movements that we have observed recently is the appearance of the official fanpage Xbox SEA on Facebook. Actually this is not a completely new fanpage, but only changed its name from Xbox Singapore to SEA. The description of the page also states that they will provide all forms of updates and news about Xbox to fans in the Southeast Asian region.

From what we see, this could be a big sign that Xbox is getting serious about raising its brand name in the Southeast Asian region. This means that they will also provide more support, including the marketing of their consoles in Indonesia. It’s going to take a long time of course for gamers to open up to Xbox, but at least Microsoft has taken the most important first step in their long-term strategy.

Apart from Southeast Asia, Xbox is also trying to attract interest from Japanese gamers, which is not surprising because the console is very difficult to compete in that country. They even in collaboration with Virtual YouTubers Shishiro Botan and Himemori Luna from Hololive from Hololive to promote the Game Pass service in Japan.

So what do you think about this new strategy from Xbox? Are you positive that their future in Asia can be better in the future?
