A report circulating on the internet reported that multinational conglomerate AT&T stated their intention to sell Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. It is the gaming division of Warner Bros.’s WarnerMedia that has published many major video games. In fact, most of these games already have WarnerMedia intellectual property such as batman and Lord of The Rings.

It was initially reported that other game companies such as Electronic Arts, Activision Blizzard, and Take-Two Interactive were interested in buying Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. But recent reports suggest that Microsoft is currently interested in buying Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment.

according to The Information, which has confirmed this, Microsoft is confirmed to be considering buying WarnerMedia’s gaming division. They aim to expand video game development at Xbox Games Studios. But unfortunately Microsoft is also reportedly not going to buy Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment directly. AT&T is reportedly still looking for ways to pay off $154 billion in debt accumulated in its 2021 purchase of TimeWarner.

If Microsoft is really going to buy Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, then Microsoft will certainly acquire many development teams such as NetherRealm Studios who develop Mortal Kombat games. Developer Monolith Productions who developed the game Middle-Earth: Shadow of War, and TT Games which developed the LEGO game.

Keep in mind that Microsoft has previously acquired the first studio including buying major development teams such as Obsidian Entertainment, Double Fine Productions, and Theory Ninja. So interest in buying Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment might just happen. Because buying Warner Bros’ gaming division is a very promising investment.
