5 Advantages and Disadvantages of Resident Evil 3 Remake

Resident Evil 3 remake pros and cons

5 Advantages and Disadvantages of Resident Evil 3 Remake – As we know, the Resident Evil 3 Remake game has been released since April 3 yesterday. There have also been many journalists to review this game. The result is that there are many pros and cons to the remake that Capcom has given this time.

Therefore, Gamexran will also provide a review for the game Resident Evil 3 Remake. Here are 5 advantages and disadvantages of the Resident Evil 3 Remake game. So, let’s check this out!

Excess :

1. Graphics are getting better

There is no doubt that RE Engine is one of the best for the engine used by Capcom. Compared to Resident Evil 2 Remake, the graphics for Resident Evil 3 Remake are better. Like Volumetric Light which is very precise on every object that is exposed to any light, then Shadow Quality is getting better, and for sure the details of every character and object made by this RE Engine.

2. Expansion of the story from several side characters

Maybe the side characters don’t have much influence in the game, but Capcom here expands on the stories of several side characters that appear even though they are told in the form of documents. Like Murphy Seeker, one of the UBCS members is expanded a bit about his story before joining UBCS which is told in the document that he lived near his own corpse, then there are also stories from doctors who work at Spencer Memorial Hospital and several researchers who work at Umbrella ( I can’t name all of them because there are so many).

3. New difficulty

If you have completed the game on Hardcore difficulty, new difficulties will appear, namely Nightmare and Inferno. So the total difficulty is 5 difficulties. In Nightmare and Inferno modes, some items will be re-arranged/repositioned which requires us to explore this game more deeply in order to get the items needed. And the enemy will be re-positioned or added at each level, and the enemies in the last 2 difficulties are more aggressive in hunting down the player.

4. Level design

Undoubtedly, Capcom provides the uniqueness of each level of its design. Like the First Person View mode when we first played using Jill in her apartment to explore more deeply what was in her apartment, there are also things like Defend Point when using Carlos at Spencer Memorial Hospital. Then when you want to turn on a power plant that has become a nest for Drain Demos.

5. Boss Battles are getting more intense

The boss battle presented by Capcom this time was executed very intensely. Like the first boss fight on top of the building where Nemesis brought the Flamethrower. Then the second and third boss fights with Nemesis 2nd Form in front of St. Michael Clock Tower and at the Umbrella Undergrpund Facility. And the most Epic is when the Final boss fight against Nemesis 3rd Forms.

Deficiency

1. Very short playtime

Maybe we can say that Capcom made a blunder in executing the game that its fans have been waiting for. Because Capcom is too focused on the Resident Evil Resistance game, so he sacrificed Resident Evil 3 Remake. And as a result, playtime for the first time to play it becomes very short.

2. Many are removed

Actually, fans really want to see what the environment in the Clock Tower looks like, but Capcom says otherwise, the Clock Tower is just a decoration and only a place for boss fights. Not only that, Capcom cut the levels in the park and graveyard, even Grave Digger had to be sacrificed in order to catch up with the release time. Despite the addition of Pale Heads enemies, fans are already disappointed with what Capcom has done.

3. Changed the story from the original version

Because of the many changes in the story, many fans are wondering, will the timeline story change from the original or not? Such as Pale Heads which never appeared in the original version but were added without a detailed explanation, then the creation of Tyrant T-103 (or Mr. X) in Resident Evil 2 (remake and original) was made from NEST 2 (a branch of the Umbrella facility) which he should have been made by William G. Birkin in the original.

4. Too focused on the Action side instead of Horror

Indeed, Jill is a character who has experience fighting zombies in the Arklay Mountains, so Capcom made Jill more flexible by adding the dodge feature. It is indeed very difficult to master this dodge feature, but once you get used to it, the gameplay will become easier. Unlike yesterday’s Resident Evil 2 Remake, this remake provides a survival knife that won’t break. So, we are presented with gameplay like Resident Evil 4 where when the enemy has fallen, we just use a knife to save bullets.

5. Nemesis

Nemesis in this remake is really not scary. Whereas in the original version, Nemesis is a nightmare for players who play it. Nemesis here does not hunt as fiercely as Mr. X from Resident Evil 2 Remake. Because of this, Nemesis became an ordinary boss that wasn’t scary.
