Find New Director, Uncharted Film Project Will Start Production End of 2021

Former director of the film 10 Cloverfield Lane.

News of director Shawn Levy’s departure from the film Uncharted indeed almost bury the dream of fans of the Uncharted game to see Nathan Drake’s action on the big screen. Lucky, Sony Pictures managed to get a replacement director, that is Dan Trachtenberg. The director, who previously worked on the horror film 10 Cloverfield Lane, will lead the Uncharted film project, replacing Shawn Levy who opted out to work on another film.

It’s been over a year Sony Pictures want to realize this Uncharted film project. However, this film project often encounters obstacles ranging from mutually changing actors, production times that are always rescheduled, crew changes and much more. These constraints are what made this film project delayed.

This big screen version of Uncharted will take the background time of events before the game version. Tells the story of a young Nathan Drake (to be played by Tom Holland), a treasure hunter and his first encounter with Victor Sullivan.

Sony reportedly set a target by the end of 2021 to start production of this Uncharted film due to Tom Holland’s busy schedule this year
