IEM 'Intel Extreme Master' Katowice 2017 Becomes the Most Viewed Esports Event
The record with the highest number of Visitors in the history of Esports, was achieved by IEM Katowice 2017, after being held for 5 days, the event that competed 3 games, namely CS:GO, League of Legends and Starcraft 2, managed to bring 173,000 visitors to the Spodek Arena.
In addition, Intel Extreme Master Katowice 2017, was also watched by more than 46 million unique viewers online and provided a total prize of USD 650,000 or around 8.7 billion Rupiah.
This is an increase of 35% more compared to the same event in 2016.
At IEM Katowice 2017, Team Astralis won the CS:GO game, Team Flash Wolves won the League of Legends game, and Jun “TY” Tae Yang won the Starcraft 2 game.
