Many of the World's Top Esports Players Use Doping or Drugs While Competing?
The case of the Galaxy battle which was demoted to its major status by Valve which resulted in the withdrawal of 4 strong teams such as Virtus.Pro, Team Secret, Team Liquid and Optic Gaming, actually raised new questions. Did the 4 teams use doping or illegal drugs while competing?
And because of using illegal drugs or doping, so they are afraid to come to the Philippines, which will run a doping test for esports athletes?
As well as the suspicion that Valve has known some of these well-known teams are using doping, but still protects them by removing Major status from Galaxy Battles. Although Valve uses the reason for the violation of “Player Privacy” as a condition to enter a country.
As we all know that the Philippine government through its president, Rodrigo Duterte, has waged a war on the use of illegal drugs. And athletes, including esports athletes, are required to carry out doping tests.
At the time of the Galaxy Battles there was a possibility of having to do a doping test, suddenly the world’s top players who were going to compete in the Galaxy Battles Major, decided not to come to the Philippines. This actually raises “suspicions” that there are players in the 4 teams using doping while competing so they are afraid to come to the Philippines.
As we also know, a few moments ago, one of the teams from the CS:GO branch, namely Team Cloud9, was also indicated by the use of doping or drugs by one of the players. The player even admitted that the entire team used Adderal doping drugs.
For information, in Indonesia itself, the Indonesian Esports Association or IESPA, has twice collaborated with the Indonesian Anti-Doping Agency or LADI, to conduct doping tests on esports athletes.
The first doping test was carried out during the 2015 PBIC Pointblank world championship at Tennis Indoor Senayan, Jakarta.
And secondly, the doping test was carried out during the 8th world championship game which was held in Ancol, Jakarta, in 2016 yesterday.
