Paywall Rules for Xbox Live Gold Removed, Here are the Benefits

A few months ago, Microsoft promised to remove paywall courtesy of Xbox Live Gold. Now, the latest information says that the rule has been removed and is undergoing testing on Xbox Insiders.

Furthermore, this news certainly makes players feel quite happy and appreciate the actions of Microsoft.

Paywall for Xbox Live Gold Removed

In a tweet from the Xbox Preview Program developer, Brad Rossetti said that the removal of the paywall Xbox Live Gold for multiple multiplayer games like Fortnite, Call of Duty: Warzone, and Apex Legends is being tested on Xbox Insider. Furthermore, this test was also carried out for Looking 4 Groups and Xbox Party Chat.

If this test is really successful, Microsoft will roll out the update so that it can be used by all players. For this reason, Xbox confirms that popular free games like Apex Legends and Fortnite can actually be played for free on Xbox without being charged at all.

Previously, the Xbox community playing multiplayer games asked Microsoft to remove the requirement for a year-long Xbox Live Gold subscription. Furthermore, PC users, for example, only need to pay for an internet connection. Meanwhile, Xbox users must pay an additional subscription fee to be able to access the features on line.

Of course, Xbox users will obviously be very disadvantaged considering they have to buy the game as well as subscribe to Xbox Live Gold and pay for the internet. This of course will be very draining the contents of the wallets of the players. However, deletion paywall obviously a distinct benefit for Xbox users and will attract more new buyers again.

Microsoft Rename Xbox Live

Xbox Live
Xbox Live | Microsoft

Based on a report from The Verge, Microsoft issued an official statement confirming the name change. Furthermore, the Xbox Live name itself was deliberately changed to provide image who are newer to this network.

Xbox Network refers to the online service for which we have updated the Microsoft Service Agreement. The update from Xbox Live to the Xbox Network is intended to differentiate basic services from Xbox Live Gold memberships.

A Microsoft spokesperson told The Verge.

Xbox Live Gold is Microsoft’s long-running online service that players can buy for $9.99 per month. Later, players will have access to online games as well as some free monthly games through Games With Gold.

This name change is certainly quite interesting considering that Xbox Live itself is already quite famous. For now, Microsoft will promote the name of the Xbox Network to their subscribers.
