Patch Notes for VALORANT 1.12, Fix Problems at 1.11!
Riot will be releasing a small patch for their latest update after the release of the problematic Patch 1.11. Several in-game bugs that slipped through the cracks, resulting in a full re-release.
Developers have been forced to “re-evaluate” what is needed to “raise quality standards” for the next few days. And while they didn’t miss Patch 1.12, they did give it a “light touch”.
Updates to the Observer and social panels are the focus of Patch 1.12, alongside a number of bug fixes.

COMPETITIVE MODE UPDATE
- The Act Rank Badge will be deactivated in-game while the developer investigates a potential issue resulting in performance disruptions in the game.
- The Act Rank Badge will still be displayed in the Competitive lobby, map load, and match end screens.
GAME SYSTEM UPDATE
Observer / Observer
- The observer / observer no longer heard the ping sound
- Improved visibility for viewing angles in well-lit areas
- Added Game Status Modification tricks so that moderators can adjust various aspects of the game (player stats, money, etc.) in tournament settings
- Fixed team discoloration recall from patch 1.11
- This caused confusion as people began to recognize red as attacker and green as defense.
- There was a bug causing certain UI elements to display the wrong color
- Riot plans to bring this feature back in the future after completing adding support for custom team colors

SOCIAL UPDATE
- Riot has redesigned the Open / Close Group switch to make it easier for players to understand whether they are in an open / closed group
- Observers are now displayed as “in-game” on social panels
- Observers can now view and type in chat / all in-game custom
GAME PERFORMANCE
- Added a new user interface for custom game observers during character selection
BUG REPAIR
- Fixed a bug that caused exiting / disconnecting from Custom Games to result in an error VAL-51, which requires the game to be remade so that players can rejoin.
- Fixed a bug in the after-game end-game screen of Icebox showing an incorrect map of Haven and timestamp
- Fixed an issue where players could target weapons that were hovering in the air (dropped) with certain abilities
- Left-handed mode: fixed recoil animation that was mirrored incorrectly (incompatible with actual weapon recoil)
- Fixed Observer UI overlapping when player performed placement / taming
- Fixed inconsistent team color on mini map pings
- Fixed a rare issue where Observer camera transition visuals could get stuck when switching between player views
