Capcom Delays Resident Evil 4 Remake Development

If you are diligent in following the news of video game developments, you must have heard that Capcom is preparing Resident Evil 4 (RE4) Remake. Seeing the success of making remake versions of RE2 and RE3, Capcom wanted to try again on RE4. For those who are hoping for that to happen, it seems you have to be patient again. Because, Capcom reportedly delayed the development of RE4 Remake because there was a bit of an internal dispute.

According to reports VGC, the RE4 Remake project previously worked on by M-Two will be replaced by Capcom Division 1. This change is allegedly due to internal disputes. VGC said that M-Two wanted RE4 Remake to be exactly the same as the original version, from the gameplay to the locations used. This decision was taken after scathing criticism from gamers for the RE3 Remake which was also worked on previously by M-Two.

On the other hand, Capcom wants Resident Evil 4 Remake to look different from the original version, as they did in Resident Evil 2 Remake. So, they can mix new formulas from various elements and can be successful like Resident Evil 2 Remake.

With this change, the release schedule that was rumored to fall in 2022 was forced to be pushed back to 2023. Meanwhile, there has been no official response from Capcom regarding this rumor. What do you think?
