CD Projekt RED Employees Frustrated With Low Bonuses, While Seniors Earn Millions Of Dollars

It’s hard to let go of a discussion that contains controversy when it comes to Cyberpunk 2077. The game, which started as the most ambitious project of CD Projekt RED, ended beyond the expectations of many fans. From a technical point of view to the amount of cut-content in it, what is clear is that this game is far from a new generation of open-world experience as promoted. But despite the messy release of the game, it turns out that the management of CD Projekt RED still gets a high bonus in the range of USD 4 to 6 million or around tens of billions of rupiah.

In a new report from renowned journalist Jason Schreier via Bloomberg, he gains recognition from employees who are frustrated by low bonuses. This was further strengthened after they submitted a request to postpone the game, which was later rejected by the higher-ups. You could say this is a factor that affects the bonuses of these employees, which can actually be higher if the game is released in good condition.

Representatives of CD Projekt RED had confirmed that the average employee can get a bonus of up to USD 34 thousand, or about almost 500 million rupiah. However, official information obtained by Schreier actually said that CD Projekt RED had set aside USD 29.8 million as a bonus for 865 employees. Then, other information revealed that five members of the board of directors even received bonuses that had been divided from USD 28 million (all around 400 billion rupiah).

From this it can be seen that the management of CD Projekt RED did not get too significant an effect from the launch of Cyberpunk 2077, despite the bad reception the game got. While the developer team who worked extra hard actually got a more severe effect, both from increased working time (crunch time) to low bonuses.

Fortunately, one employee admitted to Schreier that various reports from Bloomberg, including complaints from internal parties, had their own effect, in which CD Projekt RED has re-evaluated their remuneration system. This even affects the staff with the lowest wages who receive a raise.

For those of you who are curious about the game Cyberpunk 2077 has been officially released and can be played on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Google Stadia and PC.
