Signal Remaster? Konami Registers Trademark For Metal Gear Rising

Business practices that are considered too greedy to the point that their bad treatment before the departure of Hideo Kojima made Konami’s name no longer get the appreciation it used to. We are indeed one of those who are quite disappointed, but on the one hand there is also hope to see them rise again to become one of the biggest game developers, because it must be admitted that Konami still has patent rights for iconic franchises such as Suikoden, Silent Hill, Castlevania, and so on. Metal Gear Solid.

As if showing signs of revival especially through their support for the fantastic-looking GetsuFumaDen: Undying Moon sequel, it was recently discovered that Konami had registered two new trademarks in Japan. This information that has been released to the public is a trademark for the name Akumajou Dracula (Japanese version for Castlevania) and also Metal Gear Rising.

Such trademark registration usually leads to two scenarios, namely the extension of IP name rights or preparation for working on a new project. We can’t guarantee that Konami will be working on a new game or a remastered version for Castlevania and Metal Gear Rising, but at least this information could be a sign of something bigger than expected. One thing is clear, don’t put your expectations too high and you should be patient to see developments in the future.

If Konami really has serious plans to return to being active in the gaming industry, then they should really be able to take advantage of their long abandoned popular franchise. Incidentally they have already started doing it for the GetsuFumaDen series which is indeed a niche game from the Famicom era, so maybe this is the first step they want to take to revive their old IP.
