Abandoned Allegedly New Silent Hill Game Will Release Realtime Trailer App
Last month, the world gaming community was shocked by rumors of a secret Silent Hill game from Kojima Productions. This allegation comes after the indie horror game with the tentative title “Abandoned” has much in common with Kojima’s quirky marketing tactics in the past. There are many camps who suspect that this game is Silent Hill, but not a few also feel sorry for the developers of Blu Box Game Studios because of this misunderstanding. Fortunately, the curiosity about this secret project will be answered soon, because Blue Box is planning to release a realtime trailer application to announce Abandoned in August.
Based on a new listing from the PlayStation Store, it looks like this app is already available for preload on July 29 with a size of almost 2GB. The way the app works is by showing off special gameplay trailers that can’t be controlled or played, but there are realtime elements that can be felt, such as the possibility of a Haptic Feedback effect because the game is specifically for an exclusive release on the PlayStation 5.
Our suspicions about this project are still strong even though Kojima is reportedly already working with Microsoft. While it doesn’t end up being Silent Hill, there are plenty of suspicious details that can’t be denied. We are talking about indie games from developers with zero track records and unclear identities who get special treatment and cooperation with Sony. Our guess might be that this game is still related to Silent Hill, or it could be a new game from the Siren series.
Incidentally, Blue Box will also share more complete information about the game in August, which coincidentally is also rumored to be when Sony holds a PlayStation exhibition event that is bigger than State of Play. Whatever it is, what is clear is that we can only wait patiently while maintaining expectations.
