Advanced .hack? CyberConnect2 Will Announce New Game Soon!

As a JRPG franchise that popularized the virtual world genre in games which was then continued by various popular series such as Sword Art Online, until now .hack is still proven to have a special place in the hearts of many fans. After the release of the remastered version of the original .hack//GU trilogy, many fans are still curious about the fate of the franchise and whether CryberConnect2 is still committed to supporting it.

The answer to this curiosity has actually been answered in an old interview session with the president Hirsohi Matsuyama, who said that his team would still continue to support the existence of .hack. Not long ago Matsuyama even showed teaser of the many video documents on his computer from a new game project that will be announced in the near future.

Responding to the post that he uploaded on Twitter, many fans began to guess if this was related to the latest .hack game project. Not a few also expect it to be a Naruto Storm-style fighting game for Bleach, but seeing how CC2 has prepared a similar new game through Demon Slayer – Hinokami Chronicles, this guess is less than expected. Through the same post, Matsuyama said that he was touched by the efforts of the development team in developing this game, especially after he saw all the video files. He also said how there was nowhere to be removed or added, before closing the post in hopes of showing off the game soon.

There’s no word yet on when this game will be announced, but our guess is that CC2 will showcase it at E3 2021 which will be held this weekend. Will the game end up as the latest in the .hack series or will it be another completely new original game? we just wait.
