Another new record, Monster Hunter Rise reaches 5 million sales worldwide

It’s only been one week since Monster Hunter Rise achieved sales of 4 million copies worldwide, now the game managed to set a new sales record again which increased by 1 million. This news was delivered directly by Capcom via official website, which sales have been calculated from the release of the physical version and digital downloads.

When compared to Monster Hunter World, the sales achieved by both are relatively the same at the same time, which is about one week. However, World was released on two platforms namely PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, while Rise is currently only available exclusively on Nintendo Switch. The release of the PC version, which is planned for 2022, will definitely increase its sales figures. And who knows the World record that still stands at more than 10 million and makes it the best-selling game in Capcom history.

Regarding the game itself, Monster Hunter Rise is the latest game series in the franchise that carries a Japanese theme. Apart from the presence of cool new monsters, this game introduces a new, more responsive gameplay system with Wire Bug. This gadget allows the player to execute a series of new weapon combo techniques as well as use it as a flexible Grappling Hook tool.

In this game, players will be taken on a mission to investigate the mystery of the Rampage that threatens the peace of Kamura village. Later players are also given the opportunity to engage in large-scale battles similar to tower-defense, where they must use all available access to weapons to trap and defeat monsters before they can penetrate the defense. Incidentally, the game will also release the latest update towards the end of April. This update will bring Apex Rathalos to hunt as well as various other overhauls.
