Back to PS Store, Cyberpunk 2077 Becomes PlayStation 4 Top Seller for June 2021

Of the many sweet promises and massive marketing that makes it feel like a revolutionary game, it’s still hard to believe that Cyberpunk 2077 ends up “failing” to meet the expectations of gamers who place high trust in CD Projekt RED. We quote them because despite the many technical issues that ruined the gaming experience, the games themselves proved to be selling well at high numbers. This was even more evident when Cyberpunk 2077 was returned to the PlayStation Store and ended up becoming a Top Seller in last June.

This information is known from a new post on PlayStation Blog regarding sales data for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 games in June 2021. It is known that Cyberpunk 2077 occupies the first position for the best-selling PS4 game for both the Americas and Europe. This result is indeed quite surprising, because the game is still in a state that is not optimal and full of bugs, especially for the previous generation console version which is worse than the PS5.

Users may continue to experience some performance issues with the PS4 edition while we continue to improve stability across all platforms. The PS4 Pro and PS5 versions of the game will provide the best experience on PlayStation.

We think some gamers might think that the return of Cyberpunk 2077 to the PlayStation Store indicates that the game is worth playing. But even though there have been improvements, we can’t recommend the PS4 version of the game and this is even acknowledged by Sony and CD Projekt Red itself, which warns about problems that might exist in the PS4 version. The anticipated improvements and refinements will surely come in time, but for the time being it’s best if we just look at the situation.

Cyberpunk 2077 itself is now officially released and can be played on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series, Stadia and PC.
