Comic Frontier 9 Event Will Present Three Overseas Cosplayers

The movement of the Indonesian creative industry is still growing. Many local creators, both professional and those who are still working on an independent path, continue to produce a variety of creative products ranging from illustrations, comics, games, to animations.

As a forum for bringing together young creators, Comic Frontier (Comifuro) is back for the second time this year. This time, Comic Frontier is being held for the ninth time since it was first held in 2012. The event, which carries the concept of a creative market, was held for two days on 2-3 September 2017 and took place at Kartika Expo, Balai Kartini, South Jakarta.

Comic Frontier always presents visual illustrations with different nuances and made by different creators. This time, the official illustration of the event was made by Pikomint.

The number of creators and creative communities gathered in Comic Frontier 9 has increased more than the previous event. In this event, more than 400 creators, creative circles, and communities have joined. The various works presented will also be more diverse, ranging from illustrations, comics, animation, literature, music, to games.

At Comic Frontier 9, the Comic Frontier Organizing Committee collaborated with Vifth Floor, a game developer from Indonesia to present something new at this event. To accommodate the interest of cosplay creators and activists, Comic Frontier together with Vifth Floor presented international cosplayers as guest stars.

The following are the cosplayers who will be present at Comic Frontier 9.

Ying

Ying Sighai or more familiarly called Ying by his fans is a famous cosplayer from Hong Kong. Ying started her career in the cosplay world in 2006. More than 10 years in the cosplay world, Ying continues to deliver spectacular cosplay works with an amazing mix of costume details and photographic techniques.

Aliga

A Chinese cosplayer who became an internet phenomenon after cosplaying as Ai Kizuna’s character. Some of his fans even mention that Aliga is the embodiment of Ai Kizuna in the real world. Although he is well known for his recent cosplay as Ai Kizuna, Aliga has been in the world of cosplay since 2011 with the various cosplay works he has created.

Nemesia

One of the talented cosplayers from China who is already well known in the international arena. Starting his career in the cosplay world since 2014, Nemesia has succeeded in bringing fictional characters such as Saber Alter from the Fate/Stay Night series and Inori Yuzuriha from the band Egoist to life with their creativity in processing the details of the costumes worn.

Not only enlivened by stars from abroad, Comic Frontier also presents talented creators from within the country. The creators who were present as guest stars in this event came from various backgrounds, ranging from comic artists to local animation creators, including BPP (Not Boyfriends) Web Comic, Ghosty’s Comic, and Angel Dives Universe.

Comic Frontier is a routine event held every year. This event was first held in 2012. When it was first held, Comic Frontier only accommodated 35 creative circles to join. Over time and the growth of the creative industry in Indonesia, Comic Frontier has become a movement that is able to bring together hundreds of creators in one event.
