Diablo II Resurrected Will Enter Technical Alpha Phase This Week

A few months ago the Diablo community was surprised by the announcement of a remastered/soft remake of the classic game Diablo II. Titled Diablo II: Resurrected, the game brings a lot of new changes that are ready to spoil old fans as well as newcomers to the sensation of playing the best RPG games. While waiting for the release of the game, which is still targeted for 2021, Blizzard plans to open access to Technical Alpha starting April 9th.

Access will only be granted to players who have registered themselves, and it is also still going through the screening process again for randomly selected players. For lucky players selected, later Blizzard will send an email with complete instructions to participate in the test. Some media and content creators will also be given early access starting April 8 tomorrow, so at least players who are not lucky enough to participate can get early reviews or impressions.

This Technical Alpha phase only includes a single-player content portion with a choice of three character classes ranging from Barbarian, Amazon, and Sorceress. There is no level limit, and the content will include the first two story acts, Act I: The Sightless Eye and Act II: The Secret of the Vizjerei. So far, all of the new overhauls offered by Diablo II: Resurrected look very promising, but not a few fans are worried that cases like Warcraft 3 Reforged will happen again. The good news is that this remastered project is handled directly by the developer Vicarious Visions. They’re the developers who previously worked on the remake of the Crash Bandicoot trilogy and Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2, so there’s nothing to worry about quality.

When is the Game Released?

For those who can’t wait for the game, Diablo II: Resurrected will be released in 2021. Release platforms include PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Battle.net.
