ESL One Hamburg 2017 Will Be The First Major Tournament With Qualifying Points System
Following the changes made by Valve to the Dota 2 competition system, ESL One Hamburg will be the first major tournament to follow the system change.
ESL One Hamburg, which initially only had a total prize pool of $250,000, eventually had to increase the prize money to $500,000 to make their tournament a major. Then Valve gave a subsidy of 500 thousand dollars which makes this major tournament will have a total prize of 1 million dollars.
In addition, the Qualifying Points system will also come into effect in this tournament, so we will be able to see which players will get these points by trying to be the best in this major tournament. These points will later be used as the basis for the team to be able to qualify for The International event.
ESL One Hamburg will be held at Barclaycard Arena, Germany on October 28-29 2017. Of the total 8 teams that will participate, 2 teams will receive direct invitations. The remaining 6 teams had to go through the regional qualifiers phase in North America, South America, China, Southeast Asia, Europe, and CIS.
Which team do you think will get a direct invite from ESL One Hamburg 2017?
