Fighting Demon Slayer Game Adds 3 New Characters from Kimetsu Gakuen

Bandai Namco and CyberConnect2 have continued to push the promotion of the game Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – Hinokami Chronicles for the past few months. It must be admitted that the strategy they did was quite successful, especially in showing off a roster of new characters that made the game look more interesting. Talking about an interesting roster, the game has recently announced the presence of three new characters coming from Kimetsu Gakuen.

The three characters are Zenitsu, Inosuke, and Shinobu who each use Kimetsu Gakuen uniforms and different weapons. The moves and fighting styles shown are actually not much different from the normal versions of the three characters, but the one that makes the most difference is the comedy element in their ultimate moves. With this, there have been a total of six additional characters from Kimestu Gakuen, which we previously showcased with gameplay from Tanjiro, Nezuko, and Giyu.

Despite taking inspiration from Naruto Storm, it seems that the combo variations in this game are more limited, such as how the finisher animation at the end of the combo has so far only accommodated consecutive attacks, and unlike in Naruto Storm which has more than one variation.

If no more human characters are added to the game, then the rest of the roster on display will eventually probably include characters from the Demon race like Rui to Akaza. If the game ends successfully, it is possible that CyberConnect2 will follow the same pattern as Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm, where the game series continues to follow the progress of the anime until the end.

When is the Game Released?

For those who can’t wait for the game, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – Hinokami Keppuutan is scheduled for release this year. For the platform, this game will be available for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series, and PC via Steam.
