Ghost of Tsushima Officially Gets Film Adaptation from Director John Wick

Present as one of the last exclusive titles still being developed for the PlayStation 4, Ghost of Tsushima is a game that manages to answer expectations with sweet execution. The main strength of the game itself lies in the immersive and beautiful experience of playing open-world samurai games, where you are also presented with an emotional storyline from a samurai who tries to take a thorny path to protect his hometown. Following the great success of the game, Ghost of Tsushima will reportedly also get an official film adaptation by Sony Pictures and PlayStation Productions.

This announcement was made through the latest post on PlayStation Blog by the Game Director – Nate Fox who shared interesting information from the film. So this film adaptation will be handled directly by Chad Stahelski who is widely known as the director of the John Wick action film. Stahelski will be accompanied by Alex Young, and Jason Spitz from their company representative at 87Eleven Entertainment. Asad Qizilbash and Carter Swan represent Playstation Productions. While Sucker Punch Productions as the game developer will take on the role of executive producer represented by Peter Kang.

Along with this announcement, they also announced that Ghost of Tsushima had successfully surpassed the sales mark of 6.5 million copies worldwide, with half of all game owners having completed it. Nate Fox, who happened to have received the title of Tsushima Island tourism ambassador, also conveyed his invitation to gamers to take the time to travel if there was a chance.

Further details regarding the film were not announced, including the actor who will fill the role until the estimated release date. Of course, it will be very interesting if the cast will be the same as the actor in the motion capture game, like how Daisuke Tsuji will play Jin Sakai later. But in the meantime it is better to keep expectations until there is more information.
