Kazakhstan Team Disqualified in World CS:GO Tournament

Team Kazakhstan was disqualified in E-Frag.net’s Counter-Strike World Championships after Gambit Gaming team player Mikhail “Dosia” Stolyarov replaced Evgeniy “zLex” Kim in the online qualifier against France.

According to E-Frag after the match between Kazakhstan and France routine checks were carried out after the match, and they found Mikhail “Dosia” Stolyarov from Russia playing an account of Evgeniy “zLex” Kim which is not allowed in the rules.

In that match Kazakhstan won 3-2, however their win would be annulled and France declared the winner. E-Frag seems to be imposing quite heavy sanctions on this event, it looks like the Kazakhstan team will face a one-year ban and the players involved will be involved in a two-year ban.

Unfortunately for the Gambit Gaming team, because 3 of their roster were involved in it, apart from Mikhail “Dosia” Stolyarov two teammates namely Dauren “AdreN” Kystaubayev and Rustem “mou” Telepov were affected by the sanctions imposed. AdreN, mou and Dosia joined Gambit Gaming since last January, their achievements include being the 2016 CIS Minor Championship winner in Columbus, 5-8th at ESL One: Cologne 2016 and 7-8th at DreamHack Bucharest 2016.

As we know that the Counter-Strike World Championships will be participated by teams from 8 countries, the tournament which offers a prize of $100,000 will take place in the city of Belgrade, Serbia. The following is a list of participating countries:

Argentina
Australia
Canada
