Mihoyo Gives a Firm Warning After the Beta Update 1.5 Genshin Impact Leaks
The Genshin Impact community over the past few days has been shocked again by the many leaks from the latest beta stage for Update 1.5. Several well-known leakers on Twitter shared information that shouldn’t have been leaked in stages, and even more extreme than all the previous beta stages. The response from fans was divided, with some of them looking forward to the latest content being prepared, but not a few also opposing the illegal actions of the leakers.
Responding to the large amount of information leaks, miHoYo through their social media accounts again gave a firm warning. They invite the players to oppose the existence of such information leaks in order to create a fair playing space for all. This data leak can also have an impact on miHoYo’s plan itself in preparing content in the latest update, because there could be drastic changes that are not in accordance with what fans already know. An example of a case like this occurred with the postponement of Hu Tao’s character banner which had made many fans angry.
Here, we kindly ask for the support and help of all Travelers to resist leaks, and maintain a fair gaming environment. We will also increase our efforts to deal with such illegal disclosures.

Of course we will not provide information about the content of Update 1.5 which has been leaked. However, if you are active in the Genshin Impact community, then there is a high chance that you already know the leak.
Not sure how credible this source is (i cut the top bit off since there was a nsfw pic attached) but it mentions that leakers like lumie, dimbreath, etc. were trying to monetize leaks so that they’d gain the most profit. now, the leakers are trying to dox bigboss pic.twitter.com/keYPwQVAFI

Still on the same topic, there are also reports that a leaker named Big Boss is the main cause of the constant leaks of information. The story is that some well-known leakers on Twitter have some kind of circle or connection with each other and use leaked information from the beta stage to their advantage, such as attracting a lot of followers to give them donations. However, because Big Boss leaked most of the content from the existing Genshin Impact beta, the leakers had little choice but to share the information they were holding back in unison.
We don’t know how accurate this story is, but what is certain is that any action against beta testers’ contract not to leak content is illegal which is very unfortunate. Hopefully in the future the Genshin Impact community can get a more positive influence, including for miHoYo in responding to requests from its player base, especially regarding security issues that continue to be complained of.
